Tour Description


1

Day 1: Mysore

Pick up from Bangalore Airport/Railway station then proceed to Mysore.Visit the sprawling Maharaja’s Palace with its outstanding treasures and ivory inlaid doors. Having splendid affair with intricate carvings on the huge palatial doors should not be missed on any account. It is lavishly decorated with stained glasses, mirrors, pillars, paintings and jewels. Also visit St. Philomena’s Church, a beautiful Cathedral reminiscent of Medieval Architecture with stained glass Windows and lofty Towers. Mysore Zoo, one of the oldest zoos in the country was established in 19th century and houses many endangered species. Later drive outside the city to Chamundi Hills to visit huge Nandi Bull statue. Explore your evening by proceeding to Brindavan Gardens which is one of its kind in the country and located 19 kms from Mysore. The World Famous Terrace Gardens with Musical Fountains which gets transformed into a dreamland by night with swirling waters, colourful lights and melodious music that comes alive once the sun sets. Day 2: Ooty

After Breakfast proceed to Ooty .The place that not only provides natural splendors, but also gives you a taste of its various man-made wonders. Reach & Check-in at your hotel. Relax for a while amidst the comforts of your room. Later proceed for Ooty sightseeing. The major attractions are Botanical Garden, a stylish garden bordering immense variety of flowering bushes, flowers, plants, fern house with a vast range of ferns and orchids, a clear pool are some of the highlights of this garden. Ooty Lake has an irregular L shape and stretches for more than 2 km in length. The width of the lake varies at regular intervals. “The Dodabetta Peak is located at an altitude of 2,623 meters and is the highest point of Nilgiris hills.Overnight stay at the Hotel/Resort.

Day 3: Ooty

Enjoy the sumptuous breakfast. Later proceed for the sightseeing of Coonoor, the place surrounded by the tea plantations. The major attractions are Pasteur Institute, just opposite to the Sim’s Park, established in 1907. Sim’s Park is the place where individual tree specimens are planted all over the place, giving a special charm to the park. This beautiful park is situated in a deep ravine and has eight major sections. The winding footpaths spreaded all over the park is the most distinctive and lovable feature of this park. Lamb’s Rock is 08 kms. From Coonoor and on the way to Dolphin’s Nose. It commands a grand view of the Coimbatore Plains. Laws Falls is a beautiful picnic spot, situated at Coonoor-Mettupalayam road at a distance of 07 kms. fromCoonoor. The height of the falls is about 180 feet’s. It is just a paradise for Nature lovers.Overnight stay at the Hotel/Resort.

Day 4: Kodaikanal

Kodaikanal is one of the most popular, peaceful & striking hill stations on the Palani Hills in Tamil Nadu. The major attractions are Kodaikanal Lake, a man-made lake. Here one can enjoy Rowing boats, Pedalling boats, Public ferry and Horse riding. Coaker’s Walk where one can have spectacular sights such as Dolphin’s Nose in South, Valley of the Pambar river in South East, Bird’s eye view of Periyakulam and even city of Madurai on a cloudless, clear day. Day 5: Kodaikanal

Enjoy the sumptuous breakfast by hearing the mesmerizing sounds of the sparrows in Kodaikanal. Later proceed for the sightseeing. The major attractions are Museum at Shenbaganur “Shenbagam” or “MicheliaNilagririca” is a tree endemic in the South Indian hill forests with an impressive collection of stuffed-birds and the butterflies. Here one can see a wide ranging collection of birds classified into ground birds, water birds, tree birds. Dolmen Circle where one can find the presence of pre-historic remains dating back to 5000 BC. Berijam Lake, a must see place as sighting of bison, leopard and other chirping birds are very common here. Pillar Rocks are three granite boulders which are seen standing vertically shoulder to shoulder vertically measuring to a height of about 122 meters (400 feet), providing a beautiful view. Neptune’s Pools are a series of crystal clear rock pools, formed by a stream that runs through pine forests.Overnight stay at the Hotel/Resort.

Day 6: Thekkady

Morning After breakfast proceed to Thekkady. By noon at Thekkady. Periyar Lake around which the sanctuary is built, for boating. Day 7: Munnar

Munnar-This beautiful hill station was once the summer capital of the British Government in India. The never ending vast expanse of tea plantations and the round the year moderate climate makes it a little haven for visitors. Overnight at Munnar.  On the way visit Neriyamangalam Bridge Cheeyyapara water falls Vallara water falls. Kallar water falls Spice plantations tour (optional)

Day 8: Munnar sightseeing full day

 After breakfast visit Tea museum then Visit to Rajamala- house of the highly endangered mountain goats – the Nilgiri Thars. Then to Echo point and Mattupetty Dam. Speed boating facilities are available here. The dam is flanked by forests and vast expanse of grass land on one side and the Kundala dam, top station, tea plantation on the other Etc….Overnight at Munnar.   Optional activities Elephant ride (350 PER PAX 15een minutes) Kathakali dance (200 PER PAX) Mattupetty dam sped boating (650 for 5 pax)

Day 9: Cochin

Cochin also known as “Queen of Arabian Sea” due to the long maritime history; Arabs, Chinese, Dutch, British and Portuguese followed the sea routes to Cochin. The fascinating Chinese Fishing nets are typical of Kechi. Visit Dutch Palace (Closed on Fridays), Jewish Synagogue (Closed on Saturdays and Jewish holidays), St. Francis church, Santa Cruz basilica, Chinese Fishing Nets as time permits. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 10: Cochin drop

After breakfast proceed to Cochin for drop at railway station / Airport. Go back to your home with the sweet memories of your trip.
